Social media & consumer engagement tools build depth by further branding items to retailers and consumers.
As Canadian Rangeland expanded our company-branded retail selections, we also developed partnerships with companies like Localize (see www.localizeyourfood.com). Through online and in-store information, Localize promotes retail goods by sharing the story behind the product. By means of these direct-to-consumer partnerships, it became very apparent that we needed a stronger online & social media presence, which would allow us the opportunity to connect directly with consumers.
Three years ago, we embarked on a plan to increase our online presence. Through Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and more, we are connecting with retailers and customers with great results. We revamped our webpage to include login capabilities and introduced online chat options, which allows visitors to our site the opportunity to talk to a representative in real time.
As discovered in the Interactions Marketing’s Retail Perceptions report, “Social Media: Invest to Impress?” (www.retailperceptions.com), shoppers are heavily influenced by social media efforts. The report stated that more than 75% of all shoppers expect their grocery stores to have a social media presence. A stronger social media presence has strengthened our relationship between retailers and consumers, allowing us to communicate on a more frequent and personal level. In this manner, we can continually share our story, increasing Canadian Rangeland brand loyalty. Upon review of our online marketing report for 2016, we found that in this past year, we have nearly doubled the traffic to our website (www.rangelandbison.ca), with an 86% increase in sessions and 97% increase in unique users. People are finding what they are looking for that much faster when they are searching Rangeland online. The transition to mobile usage of our site meant that, as a company, we have set up our online connection tools to a much more user-friendly and productive medium. Overall, this provides our visitors with a more favourable experience, as they are able to easily find what they are searching for.
