Notes From This Marketer’s Pen #7

In this edition of Notes from This Marketer’s Pen, we are excited to share with you news about an upcoming event, and Canadian Rangeland’s role within this event. On August 23, Brewery & The Beast will be coming to Calgary for the first time! Brewery & The Beast is a culinary experience that features the highest quality meats through a gathering of outstanding chefs and their culinary visions. The event was initiated in Victoria, BC in 2012, and is now in its fourth year of production in Victoria, third year in Vancouver, and now, for a first year, will be in Calgary, AB! Not only does each event inspire and excite, but Brewery & The Beast also gives back. In Calgary this year, they will proudly be supporting Culinary Scholarships at SAIT, the Women Chefs and Restaurateurs Regional Conference, and the Hawksworth Young Chef Scholarship Program.

So where does Canadian Rangeland Bison & Elk fit in? Well, we are proud to say that we have been a supporter of Brewery & The Beast from year one, supplying participating chefs with a protein that is hormone and antibiotic free. In chatting with Scott Gurney, Producer of the event, about how Brewery & The Beast chooses their suppliers, he had this to say:

“We want to provide the public with the connection between where their food is coming from and who is preparing it. We are dedicated to working with farmers committed to demonstrating responsible and ethical farming practices. Our goal is to empower and educate the general public by providing the information on the farm supplier, where they are from, and their backstory. By providing guests with a tangible experience of how these foods taste, and where they can find them, we can emphasize the importance of supporting local farmers and food producers.”

With Brewery & The Beast, their philosophy has always been to promote the food and beverage industry, and to support those individuals and groups committed to serving high quality products. This is a perspective that we at Canadian Rangeland are ourselves, dedicated to, and wholeheartedly agree with. We are thrilled to be a part of this event and be witness to the cutting edge, to new and exciting dishes, and keep our local and regional food systems thriving!

A special thanks to Scott for taking the time to chat with us about the event and his vision. We wish him continued success in all his future events!

Thanks for reading. Until next time, stay bison strong.
